According to the Merck's Manual for Doctors, every human body contains
an oil reservoir next to every joint, called bursa. When the bursa
lacks synovial fluid (lubricant), the nearby joint becomes arthritic.
You need to take genuine cod liver oil and essential fatty acids. (Omega
3, 6, and 9) The best source for Omega 9 is olive oil. The best
sources for 3 and 6 are flax oil and fish oil, respectively. Lard and
butter will not lubricate your joints. They will just clog your
arteries. Osteo arthritis is easy to cure, but your doctors and
surgeons can earn or charge many $$$$$$ for hip and knee replacements.

    ...

Hmm, don't see any mention of that in this Merck Manual:
    http://www.merck.com/pubs/mm_geriatrics/sec7/ch51.htm

It seems the omega-3 oils have an inflammatory effect so I could see
them helping. I doubt if olive oild will do anything.

Here's a list of things that I've come up with that may help
    ostearthritis:

    1. glucosamine (several forms) and chondroitin sulfate. (Supposedly
the forms of chondroitin sulfate that have a "lower molecular weight"
absorb better, but I'm not sure of that.)

    2. niacinamide

    3. SAM-e (saw something on the web claiming that a mixture of various
    B vitamins, filic acid and

    4. omega-3 fatty acids (i.e. "fish oil"😉

    5. curcumin

    6. boron

Glucosamine and chondrotin are fairly well established. Varying
evidence for niacinamide, SAM-e and the omega-3's. But I'm not sure at
all about the last two (curcumin and boron)--there are some intriguing
abstracts on medline but not much more.

Know of anything I should add to my list?

Yes. Dr. Janet's Glucosamine Cream "DOES" work wonders in reversing
osteoarthritis through actually regrowing cartilage, actually healing
arthritic joints. It also stops pain dead like nobody's business. Try this
    link; www.askdrjanet.com .
BTW, What is "genuine" cod liver oil?--rb

Please Note --I receive absolutely no financial or any other kind of
renumeration from this sight. I present it solely as a public service for
those suffering from various forms of arthritis.--rb
