How realistic is it that I could be able to cycle 62 miles in one day
    by September?

Course you can! Plenty of time to prepare, and honestly 100km isn't that
far really. You'll love it. Preparation is important, there certainly is
a time commitment to getting ready for it but it has the added benefit
of getting you fit and loosing weight, as well as getting you somewhere
you need to go (if you are commuting for example) so as someone said
recently, you're getting 3 times the use of of that particular hour.

Eighteen months ago I was 18+ stone and could hardly run for a bus, last
Sunday I did my first Audax of 200km with an additional 25km travel
to/from the start by bike. So it is possible!

Everyone here on URC was supportive, lots of advice and encouragement
from former unfit types that saw the light and made a commitment to change.

It's so, so worthwhile too - I feel great about myself now.

    hth,

    Tony B

PS I'm planning on doing the M/C100 as well, anyone else? A slow ride
    round together perhaps...

Ha, you might be slow now but...

....suggests that you'll be rather faster come September.
