Yeah I read about that in and old Poucher guidebook before we went up, couldn't quite believe the trouble they'd gone to when we saw it. It was supposed to keep the deer from getting to and falling off the most precipitous parts. Obviously not working judging by the gaps in the wall and the carcass in one of the gullies.
