  1. I'm told amalgams tend to last longer than the composites (by my dentist)
    Still I'd rather not have mercury in my mouth.
    Maybe people will complain about composites in the future? *shrugs*

    I can agree with the above. But when an old silver filling goes
    bad, IMHO it should be replaced with a new white composite
    filling.

    IOW, don't put in another silver filling replacement.
    Silver filling replacement is the use of old dental
    technology.
