Arrived yesterday... It's too heavy, and I will not take it to the half marathon.
Too heavy? Did you buy one made of iron? They are light as a feather. Maybe your diet has you so weak you can't lift a pencil for fear of getting hernia.

I will drink a bit of salt/lite salt solution prior to the run, to ensure that I do not run out of electrolytes.
An how much is enough and how much is too much Soothsayer? Do you have the remotest idea? Have you practiced this in training or do you plan to pop some salt race day without a clue? Some people claim eye of newt and warm water enemas help, will you try that also race day?
Don't take this wrong but you don't know jack-[censored] what you are doing. The real problem, you don't know how to listen nor how to look anything up.

Just out of curiosity Doug, how many pushups and how many pullups can you do in one set. I am sure that it is some impressive number.
Not me, I'm tall and skinny and fret going #1 in the woods for fear of getting a hernia. OTOH, I have both a one an two hole water belt that I run for many hours and the weight is negligible. Sounds like the macho push/pull-up king has a problem with a few ounces. And what was the make and model?
I wouldn't wear the belt or take any fluid of any kind, just think how much more weight you can lose to add to your paleo tale.

Well, if you have some specific suggestions, I am all ears.
Very true you are all ears - in one and out the other with absorption of zero. Troll on...
I understand that you were kidding, but I am not looking to lose any more weight, seriously. If I lose 3 more lbs, I will try to eat more to gain some back.
How do you know that you don't have more weight to lose? Have you had your body fat percentage clinically measured?
