  1. I am thinking this is a joke (reference to the Gazelle).

But I would say 187 is a bit high, but it depends on what your HRmax is. I
would not be surprised if your HRmax was around 200 bpm.

You are also not very fit so your HR will shoot up.

If a doc ran tests and was not concerned, you might just consider that you
may have a higher than average HR. Not uncommon.

Hello everyone... I'm a bit concerned about something, and I'd like some
    of
    your input. I'm a 18 year old male, I'm 190 pounds, and I'm 6'2, 24.4 is
my BMI. I'm beginning to believe I may have something wrong with my
    heart...
I've been a smoker for 2 years, and I've quit several days ago. Even when
    I
was smoking I always noticed my heart rate was quite a bit high, and even
before I started smoking I noticed the same thing. Anyways, I was just on
    my
Tony Little Gazelle, for literally 7 minutes, and my heart was already up
    to
187 BPM! This has me really nervous. I've went to the doctor before
concerning it, I told him I noticed my heart rate a bit high, and he
wouldn't hear tell of it, and said that it was "normal"... I've went to
    the
hospital before, and they ran some tests, and said everything was fine.
    How
can 187BPM be fine, or normal ? That's extremely high. For god sakes, my
mother is 50, and she is much heavier then myself, and she has high blood
pressure, and her BPM after 20 minutes workout is only around 120! Is
    there
something wrong with my heart ? Should I be concerned ?

    Thanks.
