So... I'm thinking I'll take my Muni out tomorrow and see if I can ride
for an hour or two. If it goes ok and I feel that I might be able to
manage the laps then I should be able to do it if you still need me to.
Do you have any other options you're pursuing? And please let me know if
you don't think I should do it, or if you don't want me to, I really
won't be offended as I know I won't be able to give you good times and
might flake out halfway through.

Anna.
Southampton Unicycle Hockey Club - Sundays at 4!

It will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end.
Be who you are and say what you feel, as those who mind don't matter
and those who matter don't mind.

Excellent - thanks very much Anna. You need to WANT to do it though,
or you'll probably end up pretty ****** off by the end. We won't make
you do any night laps though (unless you want to of course!)

Apart from asking everybody I ca think of? - then no. As a last resort
we could get hold of a biker to make up the numbers - there are always
spare people hanging around hoping to get into a team - but it feels
wrong to dilute the unicycle team that way. And I think Liam knows a
biker who may be able to come, but we'd need to tell him pronto if we
need him.

We'd love to have you there, but only you can decide if you want to do
it. You need to be able to ride at least two laps (which are usually
about 7 or 8 miles each) of mixed cross-country, including a fair
amount of singletrack and some decent hills. You could do one lap at
the start, have 20 hours rest, then do a lap at the end if you like.
As long as you ride safely, nobody cares how fast you are - most of the
bikers think it's pretty impressive to be riding a unicycle at all, and
give us quite a bit of encouragement. Somebody always takes the ****,
but that's part of unicycling really isn't it?! All the fastest
unicyclists are off at the Lobster anyway, so we're not going to be
taking it that seriously.

Hope you can make it - but don't force yourself if you don't think
you'll enjoy it. Having said that, it's a fantastic event with amazing
atmosphere, even if you walk half the lap.

BTW - they are strict about wearing a helmet (but I'm sure you do for
muni anyway).
