Brenda, do you test your blood sugar? That way you can see exactly what
effect different foods have on you. Jennifer's advice for the newly
diagnosed is like opening a window on how to help your body.
I'm 43 and got diagnosed diabetic 6 months ago, so I know exactly what you
mean about being too young! I started low carbing (actually, eating as my
meter dictated) immediately, and feel really good on it. I've also got
reasonable control of the diabetes, which I hope means a longer and
complication-free life.
Good luck - and if you want to talk diabetes, you might want to try
alt.support.diabetes? And by the way, hang on to your doctor, an
appreciation of the benefits of low-carb for diabetics is very rare!
