Back in the 80's (when I was a student) there was a non stick, lidded frying pan available with a central raised boss containing holes that allegedly let hot air into the pan and circulate the oil mist around the food, so that less oil would need to be used.
I can't find any reference to them anymore so they're either unavailable, didn't work or have gone out of fashion (like me)
Anyone remember them, or where I can get hold of one ?

Did it look kinda like a short bundt pan with a chimney in the middle only it was a frying pan?

It did, and had a channel around it to keep the oil away from the food.
