What is the best way to cook a ham steak. I bought one today that
    isn't very thick. Thanks...Sharon

If it's not very thick, how about grilled ham and cheese sandwiches on
large slices of sourdough, with a hot German potato salad? -aem

Diced ham in an cream of potato soup or a pasta alfredo are 2 of my
    favorites.

Yeah, but... you pay a big premium per-pound for "Ham steak" (like
triple), and then to dice em up is just stupid. You can buy a whole
butt half for the price of just two steaks, same brand, same quality...
it'll give you four thick steaks and plenty to cut into chunks for
soups, salad, omelets, etc... plus the bone for a pot of beans.

True, but as i only use small amounts of porc and that rarely, cost is
not an issue. Though i never turn down a breaded porc chop i rarely
make them for myself any more. I could live on "chicken fried steak"
but restrict myself to once or twice a month.
