point approximately 100m ESE from the Graticule Intersection. as
marked.I ask as I was idly thinking that such a spot would be a cool
location for a Geocache - but only if I can determine exactly where

I can only suggest that your navigation preferences are incorrectly
set in your software.
I don't have memory map, but in my navigation software, setting a
waypoint on the graticule intersection gives me a reading of:-
54 deg 30.0009 mins North by 2.59961 deg West.
(OS Grid Ref NY 35250 12107).
This is what puts me off Geocaching, the fact Degrees and Minutes are
used for co-ords as apposed to OS grid refs.
I know you can download references straight to your navigation
software, which converts them to OS refs, but the more complex caches
require you to find clues with answers that fill in missing degs/mins
data.
I would much rather the cache co-ords be in OS refs then you could
search for them without a GPS.
Trying to cross ref co-ords in degs/mins on and OS is a pain in the
a*se.
