though. Here is a few questions that I have.
I've seen a few on eBay that I'm watching. Will I need anything else
i.e. some sort of cable to connect to the pc, or will the unit on its
own be enough.
Also, are they pretty easy to use,
What sort of price should I bid up to or would I be better off buying
a new one?Many thanks

I bought the Etrex Venture brand new a few weeks ago from ebay. I got it on
buy it now for just under £80 at about half past 3 in the afternoon paid
just under £6 special delivery and it came the following morning.
You don't need a PC but if you have one and some digital mapping software
like Anquet etc then so much the better. This model does come with a PC
serial to Etrax cable so I didn't need to buy that separately.
The person I got it from is still advertising as he has a few.
What I would recommend is that you think carefully about some of the "good
deals" from sellers in the USA. The prices do look quite good in some ways,
but then they charge about £17 postage and tell you that there is no vat or
import duties.
The problem with this is that if it gets caught by customs then you will end
up paying import duty and VAT and VAT on the postage which all together can
add another 30% or more to the cost that you thought you were paying and
that would have to be paid to the postman at the time of delivery plus a
post office collection charge.
