i know that you probably want something that is GPS based but i've got
the nike triax elite system and really like it. there is a foot pod,
watch and Heart rate monitor. i just ran the tampa half marathon and
the distance was 100% accurate... 13.1 miles. generally, it's about
99% acccurate. the watch records all the running and HRM data and
sends via wireless connection to the nike software on the pc.
the advantage over GPS is that it's not affected by weather, clouds,
tree cover or buildings.

I have enough experience with nonstandard batteries to know that in

So, I would like to buy something like garmin forerunner, but that
uses standard AA or AAA batteries. Any suggestions?i
