Any thoughts as I consider buying some new knives?
Sure. Don't buy it from a picture. Go where the knives are and heft them. See how they feel in your hands. See how the balance works for you. Forget brand names and look for quality levels that are within your budget.
I've handled both knives in several sizes and I prefer the Furi products. I have big hands and the way my hand feels on their handle just works better. They're heavier than the Globals, too, and I like that. My hands don't slip on a Furi, wet or dry (they say they have some sort of microgrooves or something that prevent it, IIRC).
