I'm assuming that the problem is that the high adjustment screw needs to be
backed off a little. (The angle and height of the front derailleur seem OK).
My inclination is to give this thing about an 1/8th of a turn adjustment on
the outside screw but I have no idea how much of an adjustment is a lot or a
little and sort of wanted to make sure that it sounds like I've got the right
fix to the problem before dinking around with it too much. Thanks for the help.
Sounds as if you got it.
I've had decent luck setting the outer travel by putting the rear in
the smallest cog and letting the front go in or out just until I get
no rubbing of the chain on the outer plate of the front derailleur.
Be sure to keep activating the shift mechanism to make sure that the
cage is actually moving where the new adjustment will let it move.
Without pushing the shift lever, the new limit adjustment to the
outside won't happen.
