Morgan Fletcher said:I'm almost done building my first cyclocross bike. The frameset is a
Cannondale 58cm XR800 from maybe five years ago, with a cut-down 1"
threadless steerer. I've got a 1-1/8" Ritchey Comp stem on it with a shim
and a 4mm spacer and a cable hanger for a 1" steerer also acting as a
spacer. (You can't see the 4mm spacer under the flared hanger, but it's
there.) It's a tight fit:http://www.wooljersey.com/gallery/misc/img_9266
Any of you have solutions and/or photos of how you've dealt with this
situation? I will try to find another hanger tomorrow. I guess I just need
a deeper-drop hanger, or one with less adjuster and a shorter cable stop.
Tektro make some with a decent drop. No adjuster, but once you've taken
out the initial cable stretch, front brake pads wear quite slowly
(cleaner rim).
