I just bought a set of cookware. On the box there is a sticker "Cookware will be very hot while in use." well, duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh as my daughter would say LOL I would hope so. Isn't that the point? hehe ... well, it was a nice giggle for the day.
Unfortunately, some people are extremely stupid. Companies have to protect themselves from liability. Sometimes that means putting warnings on things that you and I and most other people would not need. But there will always be an ambulance chaser around who will be happy to take a company to court and argue that the company was negligent. I had to even mention the McDonald's hot coffee lawsuit, but it is the prime example. Forget all that [censored] about the alleged temperature readings at restaurants, all of which were much cooler than my home drip coffee puts out. For me it comes down to the idiocy of holding a cup of hot coffee between your legs.

Except it isn't, which is why McDonald's were found liable.
