Quoted message said:I ran the Carlsbad Marathon/Half on Sunday. The weather was awesome! I
ran the 1/2 in 2h6m54s. I wanted to break 2 hours, but I was down for 3
weeks before the event from strep and subsequent resting, so I'll take it.
It was interesting. I learned some lessons, not the least of which is
hydration afterwards is as important as before and during. I cramped in my
foot pretty bad later in the afternoon and I'm still limping around today
as a result. Muscle pain in the quads, etc. didn't pop up like it did
before and I credit extensive massaging with avoiding it.I had a lot of fun and look forward to many more!
Roger - congrats on your first 1/2! We're continually learning lessons.
I was talking to 1 of my clubmates on a training run last night, and he was
telling me about a pretty basic mistake he made - and it was his
8th marathon...
Anthony.
