I have the best luck by first turning cadence off, get to the select gears part, select them, then
go back and turn cadence back on, and it will remember the gears you selected.
When you have dfone this, youi will get the error, then put it in the mount and it will go
away, then program the shifting, middle rings, 5th cog up or whatever it says, shift, push the
button, etc.

this has worked ok for the "error" problem, however, when i reach the outermost ring , it then very
quickly displays...
"3----2" then
"2----1"
without me having time to press any buttons , let alone change the gears!
