Note that only herbal ephedra was banned. You can still pick up lab-quality ephedrine HCl (which is much safer than ephedra anyway) at your local supermarket, and it's a lot more effective than synephrine. And dirt cheap, too.
Note also that herbal synephrine is a component of bitter orange, in case you're looking at ingredient lists.
