Actually, anything with water in it counts as water. The only problem
with things like coke is the extra calories.

Caffeine and alcohol are diuretics, and concentrated sugar solutions
don't do nearly as well in hydrating someone as dilute solutions or pure
    water.

Yes they are to a point, it just means you drink a bit more then if
you were drinking plain water. Mostly the "you have to drink water"
is just an old wives tale, like the don't go swimming for at least an
hour after you eat. If there was a problem drinking coke instead of
water you'd have the same problem from simply eating. It's just
different ways of taking in water AND other stuff. Sometimes the
water is mixed with other stuff and sometimes it's not. And a coke is
not a "concentrated sugar solution". Syrup would be.

There are some topical ointments that act as painkillers for this if it
gets bad. Otherwise, increse fibre and water in your diet and buy some
baby wipes (unscented) until you heal.

The other thing to do is get some good old fashioned Vaseline and put
a thin coat on the entire area in question. And I mean Vaseline, not
lotion. The Vaseline will still be there 24 hours later, other stuff
    will not.

Vaseline? Now you're just flirting :P
