I just installed a new stereo (problem started to happen only after this change) so I put the old stereo back in but this problem still happens.
Any recommendations? Should I replace the dimmer switch? Should I bypass the switch (isn't really useful anyway) and just have
them

wired to on?
If you have to ask, (and the problem started after you installed the stereo), you should take it to an install shop and let them fix it.
My brother is a stereo installer and has 1 rule. You can pay him $120 (New Zealand Pesos) to install it from new, right the first time, or you can pay him $60 to take it out and another $120 to re-install it properly.
People don't like it when he tells them this after they've tried themselves.
