Yep - had one today - white van man starts his overtaking manouver
about 20m from a give-way line at a T-junction. At about 5m, while
I'm alongside the middle of his van, he notices that stopping on teh
right-hand side of teh road at a give-way line is not teh brightest of
manouvers, so pulls back onto teh left hand side of the road,
obviously confident that when he wants to occupy a bit of road any
cyclist already occupying that bit of road will simply vanish.

I beat a tatoo on the side of the van, and he decided to practice his
emergency stops instead.

To his credit, when he next came to overtake me (some way down teh
road from teh T-junction) he did so wide and sensibly with none of teh
crazed revving and threatening swerving that some drivers like to
engage in when they know they've been shown to be in teh wrong.
