Tennis star Pete Sampras retired in his prime, on his own terms.
Dumbass -
Pete Sampras may have retired after winning a Grand Slam, but at that point in his career he was hardly in his prime.
Don't bother to thank me for the enlightenment. I am a Good Samaritan. Take care and have a nice day.

I think he may have some motivation to be known as the greatest cyclist of all time and while his world championship and 6 TdFs is pretty damn good there is still doubt. A year or two of kicking the $&!^ out of the peleton and a few classics wins (The Hell of the North might be a nice feather) would probably swing things totally in his favor.
