Correct. Modern fabrics wick better, smell less, dry quicker, and keep you warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
I agree they keep you warmer but they only keep you cool while your moving. once you stop they suck. for commuting I found a 85% poly 15% cotton sports tee that works very well it is cooler once the temp gets above 55 and I can wear it as a shirt at work as long as I don't get too sweaty.
