Hey all, I just joined this group today, I was looking at posts for
"dizziness" and couldn't really find anything definitive. I was
wondering if anyone had some experience/advice with experiencing
    'dizziness' and what helps...

I've been eating low carb since Feb 25 2005, with great success, I
started due to having acid reflux and seeing an article on the weston
price website about using low carb diets to treat this.

at the time I was pretty much of the mainstream opinion (ignorance)
about lc diets, and was pretty scared to try it.

off i went to the store to buy the protein power lifeplan, used it as
my guide, and voila, acid reflux problem solved (after 3 months of
    suffering and using protonix).

I've used protein power, pplp, atkins new diet rev, and life without
bread as my guides, all books are great and all add new pieces to the
    'puzzle' for me.

anyway that's just to say that i'm not 'just starting out', and i am a
great fan of this woe. my only issue thus far is this strange
dizziness, started last week, and seems to come and go. it lasts for
hours, and is not accompanied by any other symptoms, ie not tired no
headache...get a little nauseous if it lasts too long.

From all I've read it seems too be either from 'electrolyte imbalance'

or 'low blood pressure'? I am otherwise feeling in great health. I
would add that I've also been taking "threelac" for the past month or
so for what I believe to be sub-clinical candida (based on the fact
that my body temperature is low). maybe it's from "yeast die-off" or
    something?

Dunno, meals don't help at all, so it's not blood sugar. I don't have
a blood pressure cuff laying around so I can't measure that handily.
This happened before and I started taking potassium pills daily and it
seemed to help, I've just started to do that again so we'll see.

My diet is pretty 'clean', I don't use any 'fake foods' like lc bread,
just eat good meats healthy fats (butter, coconut oil olive oil
no-nitrate bacon, etc) lots o veggies little fruit and good amount of
    nuts.

Is there a sort of 'standard' solution to this among long-term lc
followers? Can't find much about this in any of the books I've read.
I will try all the things I found on the various threads on this group
as well (use Mortons Lite Salt, increase potassium, B vitamins)

Or maybe it's not even diet related???

Any advice or experiences on this are welcome, and I thank and
appreciate anyone who takes the time to answer this, I will add in
closing that I'm not "trolling" and that I am a vociferious fan of low
    carb eating!

Hi Garhi, welcome to the group!

I've had recurring bouts of labrynthitis since the early 80s. No real
cause has ever been identified other than a guess that it could have
been caused by a virus at some time which may have left some scar tissue
in my left ear. It comes and goes, and usually it's something I wake up
with for the day (sometimes for several days, but not so much anymore)
but sometimes it comes on gradually as the day progresses. Most of the
time it's pretty mild, but on one memorable occasion back in the mid-80s
it was so bad I could barely stand up! One thing I've learned NOT to do
is to focus on individual cars one after the other as they pass by me at
an intersection, because sometimes that can bring it on. I never
watched NYPD Blue because of the trendy jerky camera movements.

When it happens, there's not a lot that can be done other than anti-
histimines. There IS an exercise that may or may not help. I've tried
them and they seem to help within an hour or two. There are videos
    demonstrating this at:

Of course, the cause could be something entirely different in your case,
but this has been MY experience.
