I'm wondering if someone can recommend a digital camera for me. At present I am using an old Kodak DC3400 to take photos on my walks. It does the job but just doesn't have enough resolution a lot of the time. I should point out that I'm not looking for anything very expensive as my main interest is the walking bit and I just take photos (and panoramas) for fun. I was thinking maybe the Kodak CX7530 would be a good replacement but would appreciate the opinion of those more informed than me.

If you are spending a sensible amount of money, (ie not buying the cheapest possible) then I think it would be very difficult to buy a bad digital camera. You really need to ask if you want a full SLR digital with interchangeable lenses, or if you want a compact with an optical zoom. Then you can either come back here and have Paul Sauders talk your legs off (and he will give you very good, no nonsense well informed advice) or wander down to your local Jessops who are a little expensive but again will give you good advice.

In my experience Jessops will normally price-match any UK-based web sites so come armed with a print out from Amazon or something like that and you won't end up paying over the odds.

True. They knocked 80 pounds off the price of my Nikon Coolpix 3100 ....... but within a few weeks it was on general sale at that lower price anyway. Whatever you choose, the price will come down soon afterwards!
