Just try to do 20" seat in static like I did. You should be able to
since you told us you can do more than 50cm, and you only just started
riding a uni a week ago, just go for it! Start your hop seat *in* and
with no prehop. See how high you can hop up onto something.Like I said,
I was in a mad hurry and in my work clothes and got it on video in less
than 5 minutes! Go for it!:D

Also, you said that you jump with the seat *under* you _and_ in *front*
of you. So you do *both* sif and si? For your video, try to get the 20"
(51cm) seat *in* and static with no prehop.

I don't need to see any video of you on a uni - you have some pretty
impressive bike trial skills and if you say you can static hop 24
inches I will take you at your word.

Nice videos!

 Haha. Of course nobody *has* to see *any* video. But it's
always nice to see what others say they can do. Especially when they
tell us that they "have never ever tested a unicycle before", and in
less than ONE week of riding a uni, he already he can do more than
50cm! That's impressive, so yeah, it would be great to see that!:D And
he didn't say 24", but then again maybe he can, since that is more than
50cm, but so is 51, 52 etc., lol!

No doubt though that being highly skilled at bike trials can certainly
help you in learning uni trials, even though the same high level one
attains at uni trials is more difficult to master.

It doesnt surprise me at all though. Ive met quite a few people with
backgrounds in pogo or biking, and they can hop right onto the uni and
jump a good foot or two.

Now youve done the easy part. Keep progressing.

I wonder if the same would hold true for skilled uni trials riders who
have never, ever, picked up a trials bike? Would they most likely be
able to take to it as naturally as the reverse example?

It would seem that they should, because while most uni riders may have
never ever ridden a trials bike, MOST everybody HAS ridden a regular
bike so they have that skill already.

So I would think it might even be easier for a skilled trials expert to
become an expert trials bike rider in fairly short order!
So congrats to tarzanbanan keep going for it and who knows, maybe
you'll be giving joe hodges a run for his money before you know it, and
highjumping 110cm in a month's time! :)
