No wonder your cholesterol went up! Who suggested eggs to you for
reducing it? An egg marketing board?

"pharmacuetal ads lead me to believe that diet wasn't going to make
    much difference"

    Really, what did you expect?!

    "HDL 81 71 93 33
    Ch/H 3.11 3.92 3.13 4.82"

Based on that, I'll lay off beans.

Diet worked properly for me - LDL down, HDL steady (see
http://sankey.ws/cholesterol.html). My doctor said that it often
didn't make enough difference to be worth the bother for most people,
but that since I don't like popping pills I should give it a try.

I guess I didn't know that protein would raise my cholesterol. For a
120 lb individual, was 50g (15 x 3.3g) too much? This would be approx
    ..5g/lb.

    🙂 Can I blame Atkins?

So, is it better to have an HDL of 93 with a 291 total
vs HDL of 33 with a 159 total?

    Thanks, interesting to read.
