I was a student of Marshall Mcluhan at one time, where his assertion was "The media is the message".
You may not have studied hard enough. The book was "The Medium is the Massage". Its name is often misquoted.

It is doubtful that Stuart studied with Marshall Mcluhan (sp?). The claim and implied association with someone who made something of their life is probably another symptom of Stuarcissism.
Oh, BTW, Peter, I hate to quibble, but I do believe that title was "The Medium is the Message", not Massage.

That is what I meant when I said "Its name is often misquoted". I had this fight with the editor of my book, who kept changing the name in a citation. Not knowing the correct name is understandable, but nobody who was ever "a student of Marshall Mcluhan" would make the mistake.
