I agree with no cats on any upper surface. I don't want to feel like I have to disinfect my kitchen counters before I can use them and I certainly don't want a cat (I don't have one at this moment - my "grand"cat moved out 2 weeks ago) jumping up on other surfaces, knocking over pictures, vases and various knick knacks.
(laughing) I can't take praise for it. Persia obviously came from a trained situation, but I did have to use a squirt bottle when she enountered my birds.
She has never tried to jump on anything except my bed or my sofa. She wants to be with me, and that's sweet. The only reason she ever jumped on a bathroom counter was to get at the running water. She loves drinking from running water! So I bought her her own fountain 🙂 She doesn't jump on the bathroom counter anymore. She does get on the toilet seat or the edge of the tub and verbally abuse me when I take a bath or a shower. She also demonstrates how it should be done. If all else fails, she licks the water off my legs when I step out. She's like Mammie from GWTW - "Chile, I dun tole and tole ya..." 🙂
