Well, as of tonight's weigh-in at WeightWatchers, I found I'd
lost 4lbs this week, so that's a toal of 44.5 lbs since mid-
December. I think that I shall reward myself by going out on the
bike tomorrow as a celebration ride - as long as I can get the
start sheets for the 2-up on 27th March printed off tonight :-)

Wow, well done again! The weight still seels to be coming off
incredibily fast. I note that your self-reward does not involve food -
    I think that's very wise.

Thanks Dave - I do give myself wee treats as and when I lose half-a-stone,
all of which are non-food treats. I definitely am looking at this as a
long-term thing and *not* as "a diet". It's relatively easy to lose weight,
the hard part is the keeping it off!

    Cheers, helen s

It has to be a permanent weight loss otherwise IMO you might be better
off not starting, but I know you already know that. You may well find
that as the weight continues to melt away cycling longer distances
becomes easier and more enjoyable. This could well make the long term
maintenance simpler than it might otherwise have been. Cycling is a
    "good" addiction.
