I have a year old B17. The 'ridge' is smooth, rounded and very, very slight. Running my fingernail down the saddle, I can just about get the nail to catch. Yours doesn't sound right to me. Paul

Just looked at mine- its also smooth on mine, though I'm not sure if this would actually cause a problem if it wasn't. The B17 is excellent - though it does need 300+ miles to break in properly I think. Its much more confortable than those soft gell ones
