I cannot count the times that I've thrown bread out. And as I contemplate
yet another half a loaf, I wonder - could I leave it to dry for the night..
Could it be frozen the next day? Or would it be soggy when thawed., and
therefore useless for stuffing or croutons.

    Anyone done this?

I've never had much luck storing it or freezing it, but the birds and
squirrels on my property seem to like it.

Bread can be frozen for up to three months; though again don't know the
U.S. method but some of the in-store baked breads we get in U.K.
supermarkets have already been frozen so sometimes it's not good to
re-freeze. Home-made bread is fine though. When I make pizza I eat one
and freeze a second one with topping on in case of emergencies during
the week when I can't be bothered cooking and just want a big dose of
    comfort food.
