24 years ago I spent three years in London. Used to mostly cycle to work. Saw result of horrific accident one day on my way home. I'm a doctor but I was shocked. A bus had just rolled over a cyclist's foot. The sole of her foot was hanging on by one edge. I imagine that they had to amputate it. It's called a degloving injury. I don't know how it happened.
It's a dangerous world out there. I'm back cycling as much as ever after my altercation with a car last August. I've a small handicap (appropriate) in my left hand. Can't make a proper fist and the joint on my ring finger, left hand remains sore, but I can type and cycle with no problem.
