Does anyone know how to make a blueberry pie filling using fresh
blueberries?? There are so many recipes that ask for blueberry pie
filling, but I have my own blueberry bush.

My filling takes some time but requires no other ingredients than
blueberries. Generally for a 9" pie you'd want the equivalent of about 6
punnets (somewhere around 2 kg/4.5 lb). Anyway, take half of them, mash
them, then put into a pot. Cook on the lowest heat setting your stove will
do and reduce the mash to a paste. You want to try to evaporate as much
water as you possibly can. It should be *really* thick, the consistency of
mashed potatoes, when you remove it. Cool. This will take several hours for
this process. Then, once you've made the crust, fold the paste into the
remaining fresh blueberries (try to be gentle, squash as few blueberries as
you can) and spoon the filling into the crust-lined dish. Cover with your
top crust and bake as usual.
