It takes a lot of work to get a good finish on a bike. You need to
remove all the old paint, prime the metal and repspray. Rub the paint
down with wet & dry paper, then repeat until the finish is good. Car
paint will suffice but the finish is proportional to the effort you put
in. Rebuilding the bike from components is relatively easy with the
correct tools.
