BMX's (which is what I generally ride) are 1inch 1/8th which have an
internal diameter of around 24mm so I think you'd still need to use
shims to fit the seatpost.
Anybody's advice is more than welcome. Please also correct me if I'm
wrong.

Right then! I've just put together an Unbike!
I've taken the front wheel, forks and handlebars off my bmx and pt them
together to try this...

Sorry about the poor quality photo.
The unbike even has a brake! It kind of needs it seeing as how
unbelievably difficult it is to ride. Unicycles are positively simple
to learn compared to this!
