Your desription sound the equivalent to pyroligneous acid made from bamboo instead of waste timber. Pyroligneous acid used to be used as a source of commercial acetic acid. It uses were restricted because of the high levels of carcinogens present as impurities. I would be very surpised if the "bamboo vinegar" produced as a by product of bamboo charcoal production was not carcinogenic. Bob M.
