Two terms describing the same thing but differing because
of regional usage pretty much define synonymy, don't they?

Yes. But that's not what we've got here. We've got two terms that=20
are used very differently, they do not describe the same thing within=20
a region such as here, for example. They are not synonymous.

Ya know, I've calculated that 12,059 angels dance on the head of a=20
pin. You can't see them, though, so it's as though the pin was just=20
the same as usual. Pin *with* angels is the same as pin *without* angels.=

"Synonymous" means that they mean the same thing; not that the words=20
are identical. Roasting in an oven at 350=B0 and baking in an oven at=20
350=B0 are the same thing; same physics, same caloric quantity, same=20
    process. They are synonymous.

With or without your guiding angels, you're obviously not a cook.

    Cheers, Phred.

So I guess the point of that reference zoomed past you, huh...?

    <LOL> I'm a trained professional chef; owned a slew of restaurants;
been all over the world seeing how it's done elsewhere; published more
than 1500 articles on food, cooking, food science and history; do a
radio program about matters culinary since the late 80's; do tv on the
same subjects; consult with large and small companies on food product
    design and processing techniques...

And on top of that, I have a degree in English.

Nice try, Phred. Call names when the facts run out.

You forgot the one about impersonating a real published author where you
signed books using his name. You lied on that one. You have proven
yourself as a lier. Get a life. You may buy a vowel also.

Oh, and how about stopping your OFF TOPIC-CROSSPOSTING [censored].

Oh, look at how stupidly you can write when we put your (tiny) mind to
it. Lots of posts appear on the internet that are damningly stupid.
    Like this one from you.

Internet "articles" are vanity exercises. Mine are the kind that I get
paid for. Sometimes I also post them in usenet discussions, but that's
    after the money comes in.

Poor fool. If the numbers don't look good, the show is gone. Numbers
include sponsor dollars and ratings. Get someone to help you
understand these concepts. Maybe a slow-witted 12 year old.

Then consider that the program is more than a decade and a half old.

That's more than 10 plus 5... HTH. Oh, that equals 15. Sorry not to
    have put that in earlier.

<LOL> The fact that you think this is a reasonable thing to say
indicates you ought to get one of those mail-order degrees. You won't
be able to get one any other way.

Oh, you mean when I was with Justin Wilson at his book signing and
someone asked me if I was "somebody" and he pointed to a book as
though I'd written it? That time? It was funny.

But I am "a real published author" - no imitation necessary.

Too bad there's no humor in your meager existence. Or rationality. Or
coherence. Or intelligent language usage. Or spelling skill. Or
    punctuation knowledge.

Oh, wait. I get it. You're still drunk from last night. Hung over and

Hey, sorry. Didn't mean to SHOUT while you're so under the weather.
You'll be able to breathe better as soon as you take your head out of
