Just today I learned that I have a growing nodule on the place where half of my thyroid was removed due to adenoma 10 years ago. The nodule is hypoechoic and is about 1x1x1 cm.
I got similar news Friday when a CT scan for a different purpose turned up a nodule on the thyroid. One of my friends suggested www.endocrineweb.com. If you haven't checked there yet, give it a try. It had more information than anyplace else I've looked so far, and most of the news was good. I was pleased to see that the usual diagnostic procedure, fine needle aspiration, is said to be painless.
The same friend pointed out that sudden weight loss can be a symptom of some thyroid lesions and asked if that was how I'd lost weight recently. No way. I worked hard for those 28 lbs. and it hasn't been sudden. I'm not sharing credit with some nodule.

Thanks for that website. I have endocrinological issues (parathyroid and adrenal) and it seems to have a lot of good stuff.
