Possibly. This exact thing was happening on my bike, but it was due to the left downtube shifter not being installed tightly enough. \\paul
I wonder if they over-corrected the straightening of the rear derailer hanger. Might a too-inward alignment of a rear der hanger cause auto-shifting in the front?

It seems I needed a new middle chain ring. I miss the days when different smarties would suggest stuff like that.
