If you don't plan on being on Atkins Long Term you obviously
don't
have what is needed to do Atkins properly. Atkins is a way of
eating,
not a on again off again diet. It is likely when you stop
watching your
carb intake you will end up right back where you started or
more.
Atkins consists of several stages,
1) Induction - very restricted carb in take (<20g/day)
2) On going weight loss, adjusting carbs to a level
where you are continuing to lose weight at a reasonable
rate (1lb/week is resonable, maybe less or more depending
on your situation).
3) Maintenance - adjust your carbs to remain at your desired
weight.
Many people stay in the first phase too long, then skip right to
their own (non-Atkins) fourth phase, return to what made me
overweight to start with and get fat.
Consider making it a lifetime project, all so remember Atkins
liked the concept of exercise.
