    Atkins Missing in Action

The most formal study of lasting weight loss, though, is the highly
respected National Weight Control Registry, funded by the National
    Institutes of Health.

Their questionaires didn't ask any questions about low carb the last
time I checked. A person who loses on low carb and keeps it off
on low carby is completely excluded from their survey. Their survey
has zero validity when applied to low carb as a result of their
    elimination of low carb data.

Correctoin: "Our questions excluded anyone on a low carb diet
so very few made it past that filter."

five times as many carbs as Atkins proscribed in the "weight
    loss" phase of his diet.241

There is no specific amount of carbs when you follow the Atkins
process. Are these people who won't read or people who can't
    read?

Maybe for some reason only dieters eating lots of carbohydrates
hear about the Registry? No, the National Weight Control Registry
has been plugged in Dr. Atkins' own book for years and is
promoted on the official Atkins website.244

So when will the Registry start to ask questions that stop filtering
out At-kids from answering their surveys?

    whereas the Registry demands proof.245

Whereas the Registry demands that only low fatters can even answer
    their questions.

Interesting that if it's true that this is funded by NIH that it's not
    mentioned
on the National Weight Control Registry website. And I'm assuming
    that
the "Institutes" as the real one is not plural. How anyone could call
    a self
reported database with 3000 entries the most formal study is beyond me.

And of course, as Doug pointed out, took one look and concluded that
    there
was no way for those on a LC diet to even answer the questions and be
    counted.
