    Personally, I don't think we really have to worry about maps. I think we
    can assume that most people will go out and buy the map! But a disclaimer
    on the site could make it very clear that it is unwise to venture onto a
    walk without a proper map. Indeed, no map at all might be better than
    having one of those dodgy freehand drawings!

    BTW if you produce a freehand drawing of a map and that drawing is
    based on an OS map it is considered as having been copied and is subject
    to the copyright rules.
