course no less. Think about how it would have been if it had been
flat!!
I was thinking the same thing.

start pretty early. We don't have any races during the summer at all.
Yes, they all started at 6:30 am. I ran the last four races of the
5-race Arizona Road Racers Summer Series. I wasn't quite ready in my
training for the first one back in June. Each of the races was slightly
harder than the previous one; they were about three weeks apart, but the
third race (my second) was on July 4th, a Wednesday, whereas all the
others were on Saturdays.
My results for the four that I ran are:
Chip pace gun
43:28 14:00 44:21 (8/8 in AG)
41:07 13:14 42:32 (8/8 in AG)
42:09 13:34 43:17 (7/8 in AG)
42:59 13:51 43:53 (9/10 in AG)
Overall, I came in 142nd of 794 women who ran at least one of the five
races.
In age group, I came in sixth of fifteen women who ran at least one of
the races--only because all but one of those behind me ran three or
fewer races. (That one ran only three races, but came in behind me in
the two that we both ran in.)

years back and it's definately hilly! :-) (But whatta scenic
course...)
A friend of mine who has run it at least twice, and who is going to run
again it this year has told me the same thing, but a lot more
emphatically. <g>

Crossing the starting line is 90%.
Crossing the finish line is the other 90%.
