    Hard to know whether it means anything, or even if its exaggerated, or even if its just a phrase he tossed in to make a point. However it seems plausible. His whole world had crashed around him.

    And in this article from two days prior, he states that he lied due to relationship problems he was having and that he wanted the world to think he was in Mexico while trained in Italy.

    While those others who lost prize money and publicity because of drug cheats also considered killing themselves.

  3. If Ras' actions can be explained by him hiding from his wife so he could bang some Italian hoochie then he very well might have considered offing himself. How would you like to go through life after that, knowing that you could have won the TdF but farked it up? It would be like the fools in the dot com era who were worth thirty million dollars on paper but were too greedy to sell five million and put it into safe diversified investments and then lost everything in 2000.
