  1. Picked up an old Raleigh Sensor which needs work and as a
novice I'm lost. Is there a web site which covers chain,
gear and brake cable replacement? Also is there a way of
decideing chain size without counting the links?

Raleigh web site just refers me to my local dealer, 120
miles away from the north of Scotland.

    Thanks

Raleigh didn't make any of the above components. It should
be very easy to get standard replacements from any bike
shop. Chains and cables are a piece of cake to replace.
You didn't say what type of gears it has or what exactly
    the problem is.

Why would you not count the links?

Thr current "Raleigh" company is far removed from the
    original Nottingham organisation.

Chain size- Around largest chainring and largest rear cog,
plus two links. Better to leave it a bit long.
