My friend has a raleigh revenio 1.0 2011 model I believe. It comes with Shimano 2300 components all around. He just realized that he could upgrade both derailleurs to Shimano 105's for around $100. Is this a worthy upgrade? Or is his money better spent elsewhere? Your help is appreciated!

Does that include the STI levers?

I wouldn't make the upgrade just for the derailleurs, because you aren't really going to gain a lot. Now, if you spend an extra $250-300, you can add 105 shifters, and that would be a worthy upgrade. You may even be able to find new 105 shifters for less than $250 on eBay or summat. That will gain you entrance to the 10spd club......so long as you also get a 10spd cassette (not expensive) and have a rear hub that can take a 10spd cassette.
