  1. WHAT A UNIQUE RULE!

    If you get stopped and your in the main field, tough luck. If you are
    in a breakaway, you get the same time advantage!

    Nice dodging of the boom gates. Probably illegal though 🙂

    The tour is an alternative legality. The police help them break traffic laws.

    The riders in a break only get to keep their time advantage if they are
    more than 30 seconds in front and the chasers catch up to them while
    they are stopped. If no-one catches up with them, it is still tough luck.

    It was good riding to get under the boom gate though. You would have
    been fuming to have to wait the 4 minutes or whatever it was that the
    team cars had to sit for. Given the time gap from the leaders, it would
    have caused some more exclusions.
